Trying to stand out the companies sometimes do really strange things. InnoVISION Company, which is famous for its low-cost graphics cards, announced their desire to expand Inno3D Tornado GeForce2 MX family with a new product equipped with 64MB of memory. And according to a press-release, InnoVISION was "the world’s first company" to introduce a card like that based on NVIDIA GeForce2 MX. However, we do know the real state of things, namely that it was not InnoVISION but PowerColor, which was the first to impress the world with a product of the kind. However, let’s be lenient to InnoVISION for it’s really hard to recall something on Monday morning:-)
And as for the mere idea of equipping a GeForce2 MX with 64MB of memory, we have already expressed our opinion about it doubting that there will be anybody willing to buy a freak like that. In fact, 32MB are more than enough today for any sort of tasks. And in those cases when the memory happens to be insufficient (in high resolutions: 1600x1200), the GeForce2 MX GPU won’t be able to provide the required performance. Moreover, Inno3D Tornado GeForce2 MX with 64MB memory will hardly be any cheaper than a 32MB GeForce2 GTS, which are definitely twice as fast due to the faster memory used.
Nevertheless, Inno3D Tornado GeForce2 MX is expected to start selling this month already. There should be several modifications available: with TV-Out and TwinView and without them.
