Samsung announced that they launched the first 128Mbit DDR SDRAM chips officially working at 500MHz (250MHz DDR). In the nearest future the company is going to ship them to all the graphics chips manufacturers. Also Samsung is planning to get about 700 million dollars revenue from selling these particular chips in 2001. So, we dare suppose that in the end of the year 500MHz DDR memory will become an ordinary thing for all graphics cards.
By the way, we have to remind you that now you can find some graphics cards with the memory working at 500MHz (unofficially, of course). For instance, 5ns EliteMT chips installed onto Leadtek GeForce2 Pro card.
