Cheap GeForce2 Ultra: Experiment Succeeded?

If you remember (and if you have been following our news carefully :-) Sparkle Company, which is famous for its low-cost graphics cards, decided to manufacture an expensive NVIDIA GeForce2 Ultra based graphics card, which is not typical of it at all. So, a couple of days ago this card (SP6900) has finally appeared in Japanese retail stores. Its specs look as follows: 250MHz core frequency, 64MB/460MHz memory, D-Sub and DVI Outs.
To tell the truth, when we first heard about this idea in autumn, we were pretty skeptical about this Sparkle’s initiative. And we are still somewhat skeptical, because this is a totally different market sector for Sparkle...
However, in the meanwhile, everything looks just fine. The card costs around $385 in Japan, which is quite a small price compared to that of Creative or ASUS graphics cards (around $450). Besides, we should bear in mind that even a GeForce2 MX based graphics solution from Sparkle was not worse than any brand name one. That’s why we really hope that this super-cheap GeForce2 Ultra will also be a fully fledged card.
