VIA KM133/KM133A chipsets have already started manufacturing in mass. These are none other but KT133/KT133A equipped with the integrated S3 Savage4 graphics core. The first mainboards based on these chipsets should also start appearing in mass quantities in the mainboard market very soon. In particular, ASUS is planning to launch two mainboards:
- A7VI-VM. This is a MicroATX mainboard based on VIA KM133 chipset, i.e. it will support Socket A CPUs with 200MHz FSB only. The mainboard will be equipped with 2 DIMM slots for PC133 SDRAM, 1 AGP 4x slot and 3 PCI slots. As usual, ASUS provided its product with the possibility to increase the FSB frequency with 1MHz increments. We should also mention that besides the integrated graphics core, the board can be equipped with the optional Realtek 100/10Mbps LAN controller and Creative CT5880 PCI sound controller.
- A7V133-VM. This mainboard is built on the same PCB as the previous one, however, the chipset is VIA KM133A. It means that the only difference between the boards is the support of the Socket A CPUs with 200 and 266MHz FSB.
Both mainboards are expected to start shipping in February.
