If you own a Slot 1 mainboard, then we have bad news for you, unfortunately. Heise Online reported that Intel would not produce any processors with working frequencies over 1GHz in SECC2 form-factor. As for Coppermine with D0 core stepping, you may be able to use it with Slot 1 mainboards with the help of Slotket-like converters. However, Tualatin, which uses AGTL+ bus supporting 1.2V, will not fit onto these mainboards. Besides, Intel is also going to stop manufacturing all SECC2 processors this quarter. Of course, it doesn’t mean that they will disappear from the stores just at once. We just want you to take note that in a few months Slot 1 Pentium III processors will stop shipping.
