Memory Market: New Forecasts

Judging by the forecasts made by such respected analysts as Semico research, the amount of DRAM manufacturers in the memory market is about to drop down to 10 companies within the next 2 years. First of all, smaller manufacturers will quit this field, while the memory giants, like Hyundai, Samsung, Micron, Infineon and Elpida (which altogether occupy about 80% of the memory market) will have to change their manufacturing and marketing policies.
This year, the DDR memory will win about 10-15% of the memory market, while RDRAM remains with its 5%. By 2005 RDRAM is to disappear from the market, as to Semico Research.
So, if we take these forecasts for granted (and we really trust them, actually), SDRAM has every chance to dominate the memory market till 2005…
