Our friends at Clubic posted some curious stuff on the pricing of the upcoming graphics products based on a very exciting product – NVIDIA NV20 chip. According to their sources, the cost should lie somewhere between $635-$700. To tell the truth, this is quite expensive. Especially taking into account that NVIDIA has recently dropped the prices on its other chips. Now the GeForce2 MX costs around $140 while GeForce2 GTS – around $280 (on the average).
Some time ago we heard that NV20 will cost around $500. Now as you see, the price is said to be higher. Maybe Clubic guys mean 128MB graphics cards, while the mentioned $500 refers to 64MB pieces. Anyway, you should remember the situation with NVIDIA GeForce2 Ultra based products: the real price of the selling cards turned out about $50 lower than the official one.
