There appeared some really interesting stuff on Heise.de. The power consumption of the Mobile Duron 600 with 1.4V Vcore makes 20W, while that of the 700MHz model – 24W, which is actually quite a lot, to tell the truth. Just for a more illustrative comparison: the mobile Pentium III 650 1.6V consumes 16W and the 500MHz CPU working at 1.35V Vcore and using SpeedStep technology – 8W only. Well, it looks as if Intel were well ahead of AMD in terms of the mobile processors power consumption…
By the way, NEC has already announced that they will use mobile AMD Duron CPUs in their LaVie U notebooks.
