MSI is launching a new mainboard based on Intel 850 chipset, which is specifically designed for Intel Pentium 4 processor – MSI 850 Pro. The mainboard supports Rambus memory technology, and an ICH2 south bridge chip is applied to support Ultra DMA33/66/100, enhancing the overall system performance. The ICH2 chip also integrates networking controller and brings the features of HomePNA and 6-channel audio due to the integrated AC97 audio controller, plus 4 USB ports support.
MSI 850 Pro Socket 423 mainboard is based on ATX form factor and is equipped with 4 RIMM memory slots supporting up to 2GB system memory. Besides, there are 5 PCI, 1 CNR, and 1 4x AGP slots. As for other features, the board supports D-LED (a combination of 4 LED light signals reporting the causes of any possible failure), PC Alert III System Monitoring Software Tool and STR (Suspend to RAM) Function.
