We managed to dig out some fresh new info on the upcoming mainboard from ASUS: ASUS A7VI-VM. This mainboard will be based on VIA KM133 chipset. ASUS decided to introduce a very interesting solution. This mainboard will be provided with the integrated PCI sound and LAN controller. Besides, the mainboard will boast some overclocking features. So, on the one hand, this will be a low-cost solution for AMD Athlon and Duron systems, but on the other – it will satisfy even the most sophisticated users.
The mainboard is expected to start shipping in February-March 2001.
