Gigabyte announced their AMD-760 based mainboard with IDE RAID controller on board: GA-7DXR. This ATX mainboard is designed for the AMD Athlon/AMD Duron Socket A CPUs and PC2100/PC1600 DDR memory. GA-7DXR supports AMD Athlon processor with 266/200MHz system bus. The board is equipped with 3 DIMM slots for up to 3GB of PC1600/PC2100 DDR SDRAM. Besides, there are 5 PCI, 1 AGP Pro and 1 AMR slot. The mainboard is also provided with the integrated 4-channel Creative CT5880 sound chip.
Designed with Promise 20265R (IDE RAID chip), GA-7DXR supports UDMA ATA-100 IDE RAID 0 (stripping) and RAID 1 (mirroring). Together with VT82C686B, GA-7DXR supports up to 8 UDMA ATA-100 IDE devices.
Furthermore, GA-7DXR supports DualBIOS, CPU Gardian, Hardware Monitor, STR (Suspend-To-RAM) and Keyboard/Mouse wake-up functions.
It’s very pleasing to see that this mainboard has finally got some nice overclocking options, as we have actually predicted. With the help of a few sets of dip-switches, this mainboard allows now changing not only the FSB frequency, but also the CPU clock multiplier and voltages for the processor core, memory and AGP.
