Today Intel started shipping a new Celeron processor with 100MHz FSB: Celeron 800. In 1,000 quantities it costs $170. Although Intel wanted the shift to a 100MHz FSB to make Celeron catch up with AMD Duron CPU, they failed. Both systems: with integrated graphics as well as in those with external AGP graphics, Duron defeats Celeron 800. If you are looking for some details on the first Celeron 800 tests, then go to AnandTech. Besides, we also expect AMD to announce a new Duron version, Duron 850, before the middle of January, which will mean that Intel falls behind AMD in terms of the CPU clock frequencies.
