…but it is not just a regular cable. It is ABIT SerialATA. By the launching of this new product, ABIT decided to take care of those users who have purchased ABIT’s new MAX mainboards with SerialATA-150 ports and are willing to start using them ASAP without even waiting for the SerialATA hard disk drives to come.
ABIT SerialATA is a special cable, which allows connecting regular HDDs with ATA/100 or ATA/133 interface to SerialATA-150 ports. Besides the opportunity to use the idling SerialATA-150 ports, the new ABIT cable also allows improving the air cooling inside the case due to its circular section.<%BANNER[article]%>
It turns out funny. At first they equip the mainboard with additional controllers supporting new interfaces, then they think of ways-out so that the controllers could be used at least for something. Although from the point of view of future upgrades this approach has the right to exist.
