According to the Taiwanese sources, ATI stopped accepting orders for the RADEON 8500 and RADEON 8500LE chips. This fact is expected to push the graphics card makers to use the new ATI solutions, namely RADEON 9000 and RADEON 9000 Pro., which are already shipping.
ATI’s desire to make the manufacturers use their newer solutions is pretty evident. Firstly, 9000 chips production is cheaper, secondly, new products look more attractive to customers, even though they do not boast any revolutionary innovations.<%BANNER[article]%>
So far, not all ATI’s partners announced their ATI RADEON 9000 based products. This can be explained by pretty big amounts of older ships remaining in their stocks. Nevertheless, there is no doubt that very soon all graphics cards on ATI chips from the third companies will be equipped with 9X00 chips.
