Last Friday AMD carried out a massive reduction of the official prices of their Athlon XP, Athlon MP, Duron, Mobile Athlon MP, Mobile Duron processors. This price reduction is most likely to be connected with the smooth migration of the production to 0.13micron technology, which allows reducing the production costs due to the smaller die sizes. At the same time, AMD has to maintain parity with Intel, which is going to reduce the price quite a lot in the end of summer-beginning of autumn. Besides they are also going to increase the tope core clocks by then.
