According to AnandTech, AMD joined BAPCo, which is working on and coordinating the development of the well-known SYSmark test set used by many worldwide analysts to estimate the system’s performance.
Some reviewers used to complain that SYSmark 2002 test set included too many optimizations for Intel CPUs, though with AMD CPUs everything was not that perfect. If AMD manages to clear up the situation and eliminate the drawbacks of this benchmark set, the results shown by SYSmark may turn out more objective with the time.<%BANNER[article]%>
We’ll see how AMD’s joining the team will influence the situation. Now we fear that the future development of new benchmarks sets may grow into a constant conflict between AMD and Intel. Anyway, time will show…
