AOpen made two official press-releases where they announced three new mainboards for PGA478 Pentium 4 and Celeron processors:
- AX4B-G2N. This solution is based on i845 B-step chipset. It is designed in ATX form-factor, supports 533MHz/400MHz QP bus. It is provided with 2 DIMM slots for up to 2GB PC2100/PC1600 DDR SDRAM, 5 PCI, 1 CNR and 1 AGP 4x slot. It supports ATA/100, 4 USB 1.1 ports (ICH2), AC’97 sound, and features an integrated 10/100 Ethernet controller. It allows overclocking the system bus up to 1000MHz QP (I wonder if anyone needs it really) and features chassis intrusion detector (is it a server board?). As usual, the board is designed on a black PCB, typical of AOpen.
- AX4B-G2. This is the same mainboard as the previous one but without the network controller onboard.
- MX4LS. This solution is based on i845GL chipset and is designed in MicroATX form-factor. It supports 400MHz system bus, ATA/100, 4 USB ports (ICH2), AC’97 sound from Realtek. It is equipped with 2 DIMM slots for up to 2GB PC2100/PC1600 DDR SDRAM, 3 PCI slots, an ADD connector and an onboard 10/100 Ethernet controller. The special features and textolite colour are the same as by the above mentioned products.
