The formerly very well-known among CPU overclockers ABI Company hasn’t been mentioned too often in the publications lately. The reason is a slight stagnation in terms of the new developments of the kind. ABIT hasn’t introduced anything new here for almost a year already: its mainboards can no longer claim to boast unique overclocking friendly options, because many other manufacturers are ready to offer the whole bunch of not bad (and sometimes even better) features for successful CPU tweaking.
It is probably not only we who care about the company’s future. As a result, ABIT also got pretty concerned about what was happening and some Japanese stores immediately started an advertising campaign for many new products. Besides the disclosure of companies future plans, which we have just shared with you, the world for the first time saw a new solution for ClawHammer processors.<%BANNER[article]%>
Unfortunately, we can’t share any more details about the new solution with you now. The only thing we know is brief specifications of the newcomer. It is based on AMD 8000 chipset, support PC2700 (DDR333) memory, AGP 8x, 6 USB 2.0 ports, integrated 10/100Mbit network adapter, AC97 soft-modem and 6-channel audio. Besides, it also features LPC bus, 2 IDE channels supporting ATA/133, 2 DIMM slots, 4 PCI, 1 ACR and 1 AGP 8x slot.
Note that this mainboard is not on the just mentioned ABIT Roadmap. Maybe ABIT will not tackle the production of this solution even despite the fact that it has already been completed. The reason is rumored to be AMD’s desire to start making mainboards themselves. This may discourage ABIT from starting the production.
Anyway, ABIT appeared the 9th company already, which have shown their ClawHammer prototype. You will be able to find a more detailed list in our news archive.
