FIC announced two new mainboards with the integrated graphics core onboard. They are VC37 for Pentium 4 processors and AM35 for Socket A CPUs. Here are a bit more details on their specifications:
- VC37. This is a MicroATX mainboard based on Intel 845GL chipset and designed to support Socket478 PGA478 Pentium 4 and Celeron CPUs. It is equipped with 2 DIMM slots for up to 2GB PC2100/PC1600 DDR SDRAM, integrated graphics core, 3 PCI and 1 CNR slot. Besides, there is a special slot for ADD cards, ATA/100 support, 6 USB 2.0 ports (ICH4), AC’97 sound (optional 5.1 sound), optional Realtek RTL 8100BL Ethernet 10/100 controller.
- AM35. This is a MicroATX mainboard on VIA KM266 chipset designed to support Socket A Athlon, Athlon XP or Duron processors. There are 2 DIMM slots for up to 2GB PC2100/PC1600 DDR SDRAM, Savage 8 graphics core, 3 PCI slots and an AGP 4x slot. The mainboards supports ATA/133, features 4 USB 1.1 ports (due to VT8233A South Bridge), AC’97 sound and an optional Realtek RTL 8100BL Ethernet 10/100 controller.
Both mainboards support FIC’s brand name NOVUS technology: BIOS Guardian, HotKey, Overclock Partner. By the way, it is funny that long time ago, in November 2000, DFI announced a mainboard aka AM35-SC. It was also based on the integrated chipset and was also designed only in MicroATX format. Although it was intended for a different platform: for Socket370. Hopefully, we will not mix them up :now )
