We have already told you a lot about products demonstrated at the Computex 2002 show in Taipei this year. Some of them appeared an exciting innovation to all of us, and some were just a logical continuation of the former trends and tendencies. Today one more story about a really exciting initiative is here. I would like to tell you about a very interesting multi-functional solution shown by ECS: ECS U800 system.

At first sight you may be impressed by the way this product looks: modern tripod-like design of the monitor holder-stand with all the possible ins and outs you can only think of laid out on the back and right-hand sides on the stand. Here you can find 2 USB ports, Mic-In, TV-Out, PS/2 connector, IEEE1394 connector, etc. And you will be surprised to see only one relatively thin cable connecting the entire system to the power supply! All the peripherals can be wireless thus occupying less room on your desk. Get a wireless keyboard and a wireless mouse and you’ll get a very compact and at the same time stylish-looking system.
However, this is only the beginning. It appears that the LCD monitor is very flexible, can be easily rotated and set at any angle for the user’s convenience:

Moreover, it can be simply disconnected from the stand this way turning into a fully-fledged tablet PC.

Need to make a presentation on the way? To show something to your colleagues or customers? I think it will look really impressive if you simply disconnect the monitor from your computer to take it with you. Especially, since it is very easy to do:

The whole system is inside this monitor (now it is a Tablet PC already :)
But this is again not all yet. Need a fully functional portable system for business trips? Then simply take your monitor with you! As if with a wave of a magic wand, your monitor turns into a notebook!

The whole wonder system is built on a Mobile Intel Pentium III 1GHz supporting SpeedStep technology, features a SiS630S based mainboard with the integrated SiS300 graphics core. It is equipped with 64MB RAM and an additional 128MB SODIMM module, thus making the overall memory capacity equal to 192MB. It is also provided with an integrated AC’97 sound, CD-RW drive, 10/100 Base T LAN and 56K V.90 Fax/Modem.
Well, I believe the system specification may be changed depending on the customer demand as well as the features list. However, only one thing will always remain there: the excitement you feel when you get a new device in no time.
