New Server Platforms from Intel

Intel announced the launching of a few new platforms for Xeon (Prestonia or Foster) CPUs, Xeon MP (Foster MP0 and Pentium 4 (Northwood or Willamette). Each of these platforms includes a mainboard, and a recommended case intended for 19-inch rack-mount stands. Here they are:
- Intel Server Board SE7500WV2. The mainboard is based on Intel E7500 chipset and is targeted for high-density servers based on two Xeon (Prestonia or Foster) CPUs. Intel recommends Intel Server Chassis SR1300 (1U) and Intel Server Chassis SR2300 (2U).
- Intel Server Board SE7500CW2. This is another mainboard on Intel E7500. It is designed for 5U servers (Intel Server Chassis SC5200).
- Intel Server Board SHG2. This is also a mainboard for two Xeon processors. It is based on ServerWorks Grand Champion LE chipset. The recommended case is Intel Server Chassis SC5200.
- Intel Server Platform SRSH4 and Intel Server Platform SPSH4. These mainboards are based on ServerWorks Grand Champion HE chipset and are intended for 4-way Xeon MP systems. They fit into 4U and 7U chassises respectively.
- Intel Entry Server Board S845WD1-E. This i845E based mainboard is intended for Low-End server solutions based on Pentium 4 CPU. It may fit into 1U chassises.
