The launching of new processors based on 0.13micron Thoroughbred core pushed AMD to introduce some changes to the processor price list. The numbers below provided by The Inquirer are valuable for OEMs and dealers in the first place, because they correspond to price per unit in 1,000-unoit supplies and more. However, we all know very well that the actual retail prices from AMD are usually a bit lower than the official ones. So, I suppose that you will very soon be able to buy some of those at a price more or less close to the one mentioned below.
Athlon XP:
- AMD Athlon XP1700+ OEM - $99;
- AMD Athlon XP1700+ Retail - $105;
- AMD Athlon XP1800+ OEM - $110;
- AMD Athlon XP1800+ Retail - $116;
- AMD Athlon XP1900+ OEM - $137;
- AMD Athlon XP1900+ Retail - $142;
- AMD Athlon XP2000+ OEM - $167;
- AMD Athlon XP2000+ Retail - $175.
Duron:- AMD Duron 1.1 GHz ΞΕΜ - $45;
- AMD Duron 1.2 GHz OEM - $53;
- AMD Duron 1.3 GHz OEM - $66.
Taking into account how greatly the prices dropped compared with the official ones, we dare suppose that within the next couple of weeks all Athlon and Duron processors will get cheaper. Keep in mind that the recently launched Athlon XP 2200+ is selling for $241 in 1,000-unit quantities.
