First Intel Banias Demo

At the IDF going on in Munich right now, Intel showcased its new Banias processor at work for the first time. As they have reported, in early April Intel finished the development of the first sample of this processor and now decided to showcase its operation in a mainboard based on Odem chipset, which they have already shown in February at another IDF.

Note that this new mobile processor including 75 million transistors is cooled down only by a small fan.

As you remember, Banias CPU developed specifically for notebooks will be announced in early 2003. The first pieces will work at 1.4, 1.5 and 1.6GHz.
