NVIDIA Corporation has expanded its AGP 8x-supporting offerings with a range of new graphics solutions certified for professional workstation applications. The new 8x professional graphics cards include different types of graphics cards powered by the GPUs based on the GeForce4 Ti and GeForce4 MX with AGP 8x support cores. The novelties do not bring anything new in terms of features, however, NVIDIA claims there will be a slight performance increase in AGP-bandwidth hungry applications.
Today’s professional workstation applications achieve improvements due to the increased bandwidth of the AGP 8x graphics to host interface, improving from 1.0 to 2.1GB/s. The increased data throughput between the processor and the graphics board keeps data hungry graphics processing units fed with the data necessary to render high frame rate, high fidelity, real-time graphics.<%BANNER[article]%>
The NVIDIA Quadro4 family includes the NVIDIA Quadro4 XGL series and the NVIDIA Quadro4 NVS series. The NVIDIA Quadro4 XGL series is intended for mechanical computer-aided design and digital content creation applications. With its new AGP 8x-based products, the series now consists of the NVIDIA Quadro4 980 XGL, NVIDIA Quadro4 900 XGL, NVIDIA Quadro4 750 XGL, NVIDIA Quadro4 580 XGL, NVIDIA Quadro4 550 XGL and NVIDIA Quadro4 380 XGL graphics solutions.
The NVIDIA Quadro4 NVS series of multi-display professional graphics solutions offers acceleration, clear image quality, and ultimate stability for professional 2D applications popular in the financial services and Non-Linear Video Editing markets. With its new AGP 8x-based models, the NVIDIA Quadro4 NVS product series now consists of: the NVIDIA Quadro4 200 NVS (AGP 4x and PCI versions), NVIDIA Quadro4 280 NVS and NVIDIA Quadro4 400 NVS graphics solutions.
At this time I do not include the specifications of the actual graphics cards in the news-story simply because I am not sure about them. The complete family of NVIDIA Quadro4 graphics solutions-including the new NVIDIA Quadro4 8z-enabled products will be available from Leadtek, PNY Technologies and Technology Joint Corporation/ELSA Japan-in their respective geographies
