On Friday we reported about the new AMD processors with 2600+ model number and 333MHz system bus (see this news-story). Now I have even more information to share with you about the matter.
First of all, AMD has updated its AMD Athlon XP Processor Model 8 Data Sheet with the new CPUs with 333MHz FSB. They indicated that the 2600+ with 333MHz FSB will run at 2083MHz, as I supposed two days ago. The newcomer will be clocked roughly 50MHz lower compared to the original Athlon XP 2600+ with 266MHz system bus and will typically consume about 62.0W of power. <%BANNER[article]%>
It worth to mention that The Inquirer had heard a whisper from their friends that the company will officially announce the novelty tomorrow, on Monday, the 4th of November.
With the introduction of the Athlon XP 2600+ CPUs with 333MHz system bus AMD will be able to achieve two goals at the same time: to deliver the announced 100 thousands quantity of processors with 333MHz FSB support and to provide more high-speed CPUs without increasing the actual core-speed.
