Although the original management team of VisionTek did not succeed in receiving a loan from a bank (see this news-story), VisionTek branded hardware will soon come back to the retail channel. The “VisionTek” and “XSTASY” brand-names and other intangible assets of the bankrupt company have been acquired by Hartford Computer Group.
The Visiontek and XTASY brands gained increasing popularity from the time of their launch eighteen months ago. They quickly gained the number one position in market share among consumer purchases for PC graphics cards and were the top selling graphics product line in the USA retail market for the past twelve months. <%BANNER[article]%>
The new VisionTek unit will be operated as a division within Hartford Computer Group and is planning to announce a new line of memory modules, flash memory cards, and graphics cards in the coming weeks. The division currently has a number of graphics and memory related products in development for PC users, from mainstream consumers to hardcore gamers. Since NVIDIA is no longer committed to VisioTek and makes tremendous efforts in order to promote BFG Technologies, try to guess yourself, whose GPUs and VPUs will be utilised on VisionTek branded graphics cards. There is only one company apart from NVIDIA, who can provide powerful and feature-rich solutions for gamers :-)
Hartford is honoring all XTASY retail product warranties to consumers and is working with the trustee-assignee to make sure all outstanding retail consumer rebates are satisfied. They are also providing toll-free technical support on all XTASY retail products purchased from VisionTek's retailers. So, if you have a mail-in rebate coupon from VisionTek, head to their web-site for more details one of these days.
