As we learned from our unofficial sources, Intel is going to reduce the lifetime of its 0.18micron Celeron processors on Willmaette-128 core. If the company at first planned to let them last until autumn 2003 (see this news story), then now they expect Celeron (Willamette-128) to be completely replaced by the new Celeron (Northwood-256) by the beginning of Q2 2003. in other words, Celeron processors on Willamette-128 core, which are due in May will stay in the market for less than a year.
