VIA made an official press release where they proudly told about the recent success with the new KT333 chipset for AMD CPUs: this solution got recognized by many mainboard manufacturers. We should admit that they have every right to be proud: 20 largest mainboard makers released their products based on VIA KT333. They are: ECS, ASUSTeK, MSI, Gigabyte, EPoX, ABIT, Chaintech, Acorp, Shuttle, AOpen, FIC, SOYO, Biostar, DFI, Lucky Star, Soltek, Jetway, Albatron, Azza and QDI.

Even though this chipset might be regarded as another pseudo-new solution from VIA, it is an indisputable performance leader among all contemporary Socket A chipsets. And its only potential competitor, SiS745, appeared suitable only for the Low-End market (see our tests).
