Intel made an official press-release about the introduction of the official name for its new processor also known as McKinley.
As we see, the name appeared quite unpretentious: they simply added a "2" to Itanium. The details about Itanium 2 (McKinley) and the differences from Itanium (Merced) have been already discussed here.
