Intel officially announced that they begin the discontinuance program for their last models of 0.18micron mobile CPUs. Together with them the company will discontinue the slowest 0.13micron processors. In general, there are 7 items in this list: Mobile Pentium III 1GHz, Pentium III-M 933MHz, 800/100MHz LV, 750MHz ULV, Mobile Celeron 933MHz, 900MHz and 850MHz. The boxed versions of these CPUs have already stopped shipping on April 12, and their tray versions will be discontinues according to the following plan:
| Date/Processor | Mobile Pentium III, Tray | Mobile Celeron, Tray |
|---|---|---|
| Last order | June 30, 2002 | July 30, 2002 |
| Last shipment | October 10, 2003 | April 11, 2003 |
Note that 5 days ago, Intel launched 5 new mobile CPUs (see this news story), which could be a certain push for this discontinuance program.
