The mainboard based on a new SiS645DX chipset for Intel Pentium 4 processors started cropping up like mushrooms after the rain. Today we have a new announcement from FIC.
The first thing that is worth mentioning about the new FIC VI11 mainboard is the chipset: the board is based not on the new SiS645DX and SiS961B chips but on the old SiS645 and SiS961. as for the other specifications, the mainboard is designed in ATX form-factor, supports Socket478 processors with 400MHz or 533MHz QP bus, features 3 DIMM slots for up to 2GB PC2700 DDR SDRAM or 3GB PC2100/PC1600 DDR SDRAM. Besides, there are 6 PCI slots, AGP 4x slot, 6 USB ports, an optional 5.1 codec and 10/100 Ethernet controller from Realtek. The mainboard supports FIC’s brand name NOVUS technology (BIOS Guardian, HotKey, Overclock Partner). All in all, this is a regular low-cost mainboard (around $80-$90) for Pentium 4 processors and/or upcoming Celeron (Willamette-128).
