VIA Company announced a new Fast Ethernet controller: Rhine III VT6105 LOM intended mainly for integration onto mainboards. The chip itself is pretty standard and complies with IEEE specs for fast Ethernet (what could be not standard about a controller like that, actually?): VIA VT6105 LOM auto-negotiates 10Mbps and 100Mbps communication in full and half duplex modes, supports Wired for Management (WFM), remote bootability, Wake-on-LAN, meets 32bit PCI 2.2 specification.

The chip is produced with 0.22micron manufacturing technology by TSMC (now they have something to keep their older technology lines busy :) and is packed into 128-pin LQPF package. The pricing information is not available yet.
