We have predicted earlier that the American graphics cards makers would be the first ones to express their interest in purchasing the assets of the bankrupt ELSA. In Europe ELSA had an extensive dealer network, and in this particular region its trade mark is well known. That is why it seemed to us quite logical than American manufacturers willing to expand their business into the European region could be interested in purchasing at least ELSA trademark. Moreover, it is most likely to me not only the mercantile interest that pushes them to this move, but also NVIDIA, which influence in Europe has become considerably weaker after ELSA’s failure and Hercules’ re-focus on ATI chips.
It looks as if our forecast were coming true. According to ComputerBase.de, the negotiations about the purchase of ELSA and Gladiac trademarks are in full swing between ELSA and American PNY Company, which is known by its Verto product family. Also PNY is reported to employ the most professional people, former ELSA employees.<%BANNER[article]%>
The official report from PNY is expected to follow in the nearest future.
