VIA announced that they began shipping their EPIA Mini-ITX mainboard with ESP5000 or C3 800MHz E-Series (EBGA) processor. The mainboard is none other but an exact cope of VIA’s reference design (see this news story). In fact, together with the ESP5000 CPU this mainboard should form Eden VE1500 platform (see this news story), however, there isn’t a word about it in the official press-release.

It looks as if the company people are lost in the whole bunch of abbreviations and brand names, which have been lately invented. VSPD (this is the only well-remembered abbreviation, maybe because it was the first one to come), VIARAMA, Eden, ESP, Canaan, EPIA (I wonder if I forgot about something?)… And in fact these are no new names.<%BANNER[article]%>

One more thing worth mentioning is the price of the new Mini-ITX solutions: together with ESP5000 CPU it will sell for $99 and with C3 800MHz E-Series – for $109.
