Elitegroup made an official press-release announcing a new mainboard based on KT333 chipset (the mainboard was showcased at the DDR333 summit in February, see this news story about it).

In fact, this is the third mainboard in the K7VTA3 family: the first (1.x revision) used KT266, the second (2.x revision) used KT266A and now KT333. Look how well VIA takes care about the mainboard manufacturers, they don’t even have to change the PCB layout :) <%BANNER[article]%>

The third revision specs look as follows: ATX form-factor, Socket A (supports Athlon XP and Duron CPUs), 3 DIMM slots for up to 3GB PC2700/PC2100/PC1600 DDR SDRAM, 5 PCI slots, AGP 4x slot, 1 CNR slot, V-Link bus, ATA/133 (due to VT8233A South Bridge), AC’97 sound, 4 USB ports, optional 10/100 Realtek 8100 Ethernet controller, optional Promise PDC20265R IDE RAID controller and optional VIA VT6202 USB 2.0 controller onboard.
