It seems, that AMD Company has finally managed to provide a sufficient amount of the new CPU model by the moment it had to come out. Just three days after its announcement, Athlon XP was sold in many Japanese shops, both in OEM-package and retail boxes.
The first ones were noticed in 24 shops with the price range from 41800 to 44799 yens ($324-347), and the second portion – in 3 shops with the price range from 40800 to 41500 yens ($316-322). It’s funny, that the box version can be bought in Japan cheaper than in OEM-package. By the way, Athlon XP 2100+ price for wholesale sets starting from 1000 pieces is $420, so AMD hasn’t surprised anybody.
