As I read over at Digitimes, the mainboard manufacturers have expressed some very interesting intentions connected with the current high prices of DDR SDRAM. Three Big Four members, ASUS, MSI and Gigabyte, are planning to release SiS645 based mainboards in the nearest future with … PC133 SDRAM slots onboard!
This decision can be explained by high DDR SDRAM prices as usual. However, you shouldn’t forget that PC133 SDRAM also got a lot more expensive! For the last couple of weeks the prices for 256Mbit PC2100 and PC133 chips were almost level, while 128mbit chips pricing differed just a little bit (PC2100 was only 10-15% more expensive).
