Iomega Corporation announced one of the first DVD drives to support all major DVD and CD formats, including DVD+R/+RW, DVD-R/-RW, and DVD-RAM. The new Iomega Super DVD All Format 4x Internal Drive is on display this week at the CeBIT America tradeshow in New York City.
Until now, consumers looking to buy a DVD recorder have been confused by multiple standards and forced to choose sides as two large industry groups promoted competing DVD technologies. With the Iomega Super DVD Drive, Iomega is eliminating the confusion by supporting all major DVD technologies.
The Iomega Super DVD Drive can read and record DVD+R, DVD+RW, DVD-R, DVD-RW, DVD-RAM, CD-R, and CD-RW formats, with buffer under-run protection for more reliable recording. In addition, digital audio enthusiasts will appreciate the drive’s 24x DAE (digital audio extraction) speed for ripping audio files.
With an Iomega Super DVD Drive, a user can record up to two hours of high quality DVD video or other data on a 4.7GB DVD disc, and up to 700MB of video, music, or image data on a CD disc. Add a flatbed scanner, a slide scanner, or an analog video capture card, and users can transfer their old videos and print photographs to optical DVD or CD formats for safekeeping and archiving.
The Iomega Super DVD Internal Drive is expected to ship in the USA for availability in August and in Canada, Latin America, Europe, and Asia for availability in September. Suggested retail pricing is $329.95 at select retail stores and at the company’s web-site. An external version of the Iomega Super DVD Drive is expected to ship in the US. in September.

Okay. I used some pretty bad leet, but it's to put emphasis on the articles extreme stupidity. Anton Shilov: mind waking up here.
Iomega ain't eliminating ANYTHING here. Sony already has been doing the multiple standard burners for several months now and consumers have not been forced to choose one or two sides. Iomega is behind the trend on this one, BIG TIME.
This also does nothing to defuse the ongoing war between the different DVD formats. Both still exist, and both still are fighting.
Do us a favor. Pay attention next time and don't go leaving drool marks all over the place.

Saist, is it just me or do you seem to disagree with a good chunk of the news that gets posted here.
So what if Sony makes an equivalent drive, there are not many drives out there that have these capabilites....obviously by your comments you dont know what you are talking about... honestly what is there to say other than get a life

Saist, get your facts straight. YOU ARE THE WORLD'S, (AND THE WEB'S) BIGGEST DUMBASS!
THE SONY DRIVE YOU HAVE LINKED TO DOES NOT SUPPORT DVD-RAM. (If you bother checking before criticising, then you would know. Sadly, your pathetic brain failed to comprehend the difference.)
THE NEW IOMEGA SUPER DRIVE SUPPORTS ALL DVD RECORDING STANDARDS including DVD-RAM! THE SONY DOES NOT.
(I've repeated just in case your pea-brain failed to register that simple fact.)
Its not Anton Shilov that should be waking up, ITS YOU.
