Super Talent, a leading supplier of various high-speed memory modules and flash-based devices, this week said it had begun shipments of its UltraDrive solid state drives (SSDs), about three moths after the announcement with a two months delay. When announce, the UltraDrive SSDs were the fastest to date and at presently they still offer incredible performance. More importantly: the novelties are not over expensive.
“The UltraDrive is a product that surpassed our wildest expectations, easily leaving most of today’s available SSDs in the dust. It is one of the first next-generation SSDs likely to entice users to upgrade their laptops to take advantage of noticeable performance gains in boot time, application loading, and accessing data,” said Jeremy Werner, senior product marketing manager at Super Talent.
Super Talent’s new UltraDrive LE solid-state drives based on single-level cell (SLC) flash and available in 32GB, 64GB and 128GB capacities boast with sequential read speed of 230MB/s and sequential write speed of 170MB/s. The multi-level cell (MLC) flash-based Super Talent UltraDrive ME offers 32GB, 64GB, 128GB and 256GB capacities as well as 200MB/s read speed and 160MB/s write speed.
Super Talent’s 128GB UltraDrive ME retails for under $400, which is not a low price, but considering its performance, quite a number of enthusiasts may be eager to acquire one.
