OCZ Technology Group, a major supplier of solid-state drives, has introduced two new models of RevoDrive 3 SSDs designed for extremely performance demanding applications that require both maximum input/output operations per second (IOPS) as well as highest possible bandwidth. With up to 240K IOPS and up to 1.90GB/s bandwidth, the new RevoDrive 3 Max IOPS drives will be available to select customers only.

"The new RevoDrive 3 Max IOPS solid state drives further expand on our original PCIe series, and are designed to deliver even more bandwidth for the most demanding applications. Engineered to leverage the benefits of multi-threaded processors and applications, the Max IOPS provides both the performance and features required by clients to address the most intensive workloads common in high performance computing and workstation environments," said Daryl Lang, vice president of product management at OCZ Technology Group.

The RevoDrive 3 X2 Max IOPS series combines a proven PCI Express bus, OCZ proprietary Virtualized Controller Architecture (VCA) 2.0 flash virtualization layer, SandForce SF-2281 controllers, premium NAND flash components as well as high capacities and extreme performance. The new SSDs from OCZ are designed to deliver maximum throughput in multithreaded application as well as greater transactional throughput and bandwidth. The drives support 128-bit and 256-bit AES-compliant data encryption. The latest RevoDrives 3 can be used both as bootable drives as well as for storage purposes.

OCZ RevoDrive 3 Max IOPS SSD with 120GB, 240GB and 480GB capacities support maximum read speed of up to 1025MB/s, write speed of up to 950MB/s and have declared maximum aligned random write 4K IOPS of 140 000.

OCZ RevoDrive 3 X2 Max IOPS SSD with 240GB, 480GB and 960GB capacities support maximum read speed of up to 1900MB/s, write speed of up to 1725MB/s and have declared maximum aligned random write 4K IOPS of 245 000.

The new RevoDrive 3 Max IOPS and RevoDrive 3 X2 Max IOPS will be available throughout OCZ's global distribution channel and come with a three year warranty.
