LSI Logic Corp. said it would demonstrate its first high-end Serial ATA-II RAID storage adapter in the world at Intel Developer Forum Fall 2004 in
“The LSI Logic MegaRAID SATA 300-8X, the first SATA II RAID controller in the world, was populated into our RMC3E and RMS3E to provide a level of cost-effective performance that no other company can match,” said Gene Lee, vice president of Advanced Industrial Computer.
The MegaRAID Serial ATA 300-8X is a solution targeted for entry-level and mid-range servers and network storage applications requiring a cost-effective and scalable Serial ATA RAID interface, offers high data throughput, extensive fault tolerance capabilities and advanced management utilities. The Serial ATA II adapter supports up to 32 devices with eight 1-to-4 Port Multipliers and provides twice the speed of Serial ATA-150. In addition, the MegaRAID SATA 300-8X features Native Command Queuing (NCQ) and enclosure management support.
“In addition, our customers will greatly benefit with Port Multiplier technology provided by LSI Logic on the MegaRAID SATA 300-8X that allows 32 SATA hard drives to be connected,” Mr. Lee added.
