In a bid to ensure “agility, speed and efficiencies” of its storage services, Seagate Technologies today announced a comprehensive rebranding of its EVault, MetaLINCS, and Seagate Recovery Services companies, which were operating as a division of Seagate under the name Seagate Services, into a new entity that will be called i365, a Seagate company.
<%BANNER[article]%>According to Seagate, i365, s Seagate company, focuses on the unique needs and expectations of small, mid-size and enterprise companies. The “i” in the name represents information – reflecting the company’s mission to provide businesses with protection, control and management of their business critical information and “365” for the commitment to be reliably available and accessible to customers, both for their information and for i365’s support.
“The creation of i365 brings together the best of what each company has to offer. As we evolve and expand our capabilities into new markets, it’s important to do so with an integrated identity that reflects our core values of innovative technology, trusted services and support, a choice in deployment management, and an unparalleled customer experience,” said Mark Grace, general manager of i365, a Seagate company.
In 2006, Seagate acquired ActionFront Data Recovery Labs, launching the creation of Seagate Recovery Services. In 2007, Seagate acquired EVault, which provides data backup and recovery software and software as a service (SaaS), the Open File Manager product line from St. Bernard Software, as well as MetaLINCS, which provides E-Discovery software, hosted and managed service solutions.
In 2007, i365, a Seagate company, grew year on year revenues by 39%, beating industry estimates from IDC, which predicted the 2007 growth for data protection and recovery software and online backup services at 12.6% and 38% respectively, and forecast the 2007-2011 five-year compound annual growth rate (CAGR) for the revenue of legal discovery and litigation support infrastructure market at 17.6%. i365, a Seagate company, has over 500 employees worldwide, including expanded operations in North America and Europe.
