Toshiba has revealed its first ever solid-state drive (SSD) upgrade kit for PCs, which will let end-users to easily migrate from hard disk drives to SSDs. Unlike many competing solutions, Toshiba's consumer SSDs will offer truly high performance with read and write speeds exceeding 500GB/s. The kits will be available in different versions and will carry price-tags starting from $109.99.
Toshiba's Solid State Drive PC upgrade kit will offer 60GB, 120GB and 240GB capacity points and will come with all of the tools needed to update the drives in any desktop or notebook PCs, along with an included USB data migration cable and NTI Echo2 cloning software to easily assist with data transfer from existing drives to the new SSD. The kits also include Serial ATA signal cable, Serial ATA power cable, bracket and screws as well as other necessary things.
Toshiba's SSD upgrade kits with 60GB, 120GB and 240GB capacities are available from ToshibaDirect.com for $109.99, $209.99 and $309.99, respectively.
Separately, Toshiba unveiled new Canvio Desk desktop external hard drives with 1TB, 2TB and 3TB capacities and USB 3.0 interfaces. The new HDDs are also available now.
