ATI Technologies recently revealed a lot of mobile versions of its RADEON 9000 graphics processor, once again proving its leadership on the market of GPUs intended for mobile computers. NVIDIA was quiet because the company was not able to offer something as innovative and powerful. Today they decided to remind us about their existence and add another chip to their mobile family.

To tell you the truth, NVIDIA will not be able to offer the competitor for the RADEON 9000 for a while now, because their current GeForce4 MX architecture is slightly outdated, the GeForce4 Titanium is a lady that is too hot for mobile computers, while derivatives from NV30 will not be here for another six months. The only thing NVIDIA is able to do in the current situation is to increase the speed of the current GeForce4 Go. It will not add any features, but the performance will go up.

Today the Santa Clara based GPU developer launched its GeForce4 Go460, just another version of NV17-M with core-clock of 250MHz and DDR-SDRAM memory speed of 500MHz. The novelty is already adopted by Toshiba in its Satellite 5205-S703 notebook.

As I said above, the newcomer will not bring anything new to the market, just a bit more performance compared to the predecessors.
