Men who were standing in booths with ATI Technologies’ logotypes during CeBIT 2003 last week were very impressed by fellows in white shirts with NVIDIA logotypes trying to win ATI RADEON 9100, 9500 PRO or 9700 PRO graphics cards.

ATI Technologies and it partners organized a lottery among CeBIT attendees giving away three graphics cards every day. Attendees had to visit ATI’s AIB partners’ booths to get a stamp on special paper cards with logos of ATI’s add-in-board partners. Once someone got five stamps, he or she could participate in this lottery. Every day one AIB partner gave away the mentioned graphics cards to lucky winners.

Boys wearing NVIDIA shirts were very interested in stamping the cards and, as I believe, made quite a lot to win. Even though I do not know if they finally did, I believe that their efforts show that they definitely wanted to win one of those fast and furious ATI RADEON products.

I have no idea if these were true NVIDIA employees or just some of those fans of NVIDIA, who got shirts from NVIDIA’s own gear store, but it seems that they really wanted to get ATI powered graphics cards. If they were NVIDIA employees, they probably are told not to buy ATI-based products, but, I believe, no one forbids them to win those cards. If they were fans, then, it seems that now they are ex-fans of NVIDIA, who are now getting themselves ATI-based solutions.

Even the biggest nVidia fan wouldn't mind getting one of these cards and sell it, even if he won't let it into his case door...

Is it not possible to like both products or something?! We're the consumer, not the ATI marketing department!
