Despite of earlier claims and expectations, GeForce FX 5900 and GeForce FX 5900 Ultra-based graphics cards appeared for sale in Japan and France. Such rapid appearance of high-end graphics cards in different parts of the world means NVIDIA and its AIB partners had started to supply retailers with such graphics cards a while ago. As a result, expect NVIDIA GeForce FX 5900-series massive availability soon.

In France you can get GeForce FX 5900 and GeForce FX 5900 Ultra graphics cards from ASUS, Clubic.com reveled. ASUS V9950 with 128MB DDR SDRAM is clocked at 400/850MHz for core and memory, being priced at 478 Euros ($567). The GeForce FX 5900 Ultra-based V9950 Ultra is equipped with 256MB DDR SDRAM and clocked at 450/850MHz for GPU/RAM. It is priced at astonishing 620 Euros ($735).

I read over this Japanese web-site that there are a lot more graphics cards utilizing GeForce FX 5900-series graphics processors:

  • eVGA.com, e-GeForce FX 5900 Ultra, $568 - $595;
  • PNY Technologies, GeForce FX 5900 Ultra , $492 - $560;
  • MSI, FX5900-TD128, GeForce FX 5900, $420 - $477;
  • Prolink, PixelView GeForce FX 5900, $425.

As you see, cards cost quite a lot in France, however, are not so expensive in Japan. Hopefully, they will appear on the market soon and will be more affordable. In fact, the only thing that keeps GeForce FX 5900 price from going down is availability of the GeForce FX 5800 graphics cards retailers need to sell somehow.
