Some smart Chinese guys from GZeasy.com web-site found in an unreleased Detonator FX driver a mention about an unreleased graphics processor, dubbed GeForce FX 5600 SE.
The discoverers think that the GeForce FX 5600 SE will be a design of a graphics card based on NVIDIA GeForce FX 5600-series graphics chip. The whole solution will be targeted on OEMs and system integrators.
Currently add-in-board partners of Santa Clara, California-based NVIDIA Corporation offer GeForce FX 5600 and 5600 Ultra-based graphics cards. Both solutions provide DirectX 9.0 capabilities, 128-bit DDR SDRAM memory bus and dual-display support. The difference between the mentioned kinds of devices lies in core-clocks for the core and memory, 300/325MHz for the GeForce FX 5600 GPU and 600/650MHz for its RAM and 350/400MHz with 700/800MHz frequency for DDR SDRAM in case of the GeForce FX 5600 Ultra.
Given lower than expected yields of the NV31 graphics processors indicated a number of times by NVIDIA management, I believe it is logical for the company to sell lower-clocked GeForce FX 5600 chips in addition to current processors, especially keeping in mind the demand for such kind of products in various market segments.
