Those, who got 3dfx Voodoo2 SLI back in 1998 for astonishing $700 were often treated as madmen and the great pioneers of extra-expensive 3D graphics cards. Now, five years after the legendary dual-wonder of the Voodoo2 Gainward wants all the graphics freaks and 3D maniacs to show their passion for ultimate gaming once again and acquire the fast and furious Gainward CoolFX PowerPack! Model Ultra/1600 XP “Golden Sample” for more than $1000 (899 Euros).

The dizzy Gainward CoolFX PowerPack! Ultra/1600 XP “Golden Sample” is based on NVIDIA GeForce FX 5900 Ultra graphics processor capable of overclocking beyond 500MHz and comes equipped with 256MB of DDR SDRAM able to function at over 950MHz. Besides, the wicked babe features VIVO, but the main feature of this ultimate creature is obviously Gainward CoolFX water-cooling solution.

Picture first published by bit-tech.net.

The company claims its water-cooling monster to be absolutely reliable, highly efficient and very quite. The manufacturer of this device is Stammham, Germany-based Innovatek, a famous creator of water-cooling solutions. The water-pump for the ultimate graphics card with an average 10 years life span is provided by Eheim.

Gainward said that CoolFX PowerPack! Ultra/1600 XP “Golden Sample” is immediately available through Gainward’s worldwide distribution and retail network and priced at 899 Euro VAT included. Additionally the company offers Gainward FX PowerPack! Model Ultra/1600 XP “Golden Sample” without water-cooling and capable of overclocking to over 470/900MHz for core/memory for “just” 699 Euros including VAT.

Blowing prices for mind-blowing hardware. The Voodoo5 6000 was also meant to become the too fast and too furious part, but became the legend, I reckon.
