Xabre Graphics Incorporated, also known as Extreme Graphics Innovation, outlined its strategy recently. The company hopes to unveil a number of graphics processors to fill different market segments from top to bottom. Besides, the SiS subsidiary does not want to engage a price war with the rivals ATI and NVIDIA.
In an interview to an Asian web-site DigiTimes, XGI president Chris Lin said that his company main target is to become profitable within three years. The designer of graphics processor will not focus only on the lower-end solutions, but will also try to sell its products into performance mainstream market as well.
XGI recognizes that acquisition of Trident Graphics was very important for the startup since besides Trident’s patents and inventory, XGI also got a boost in attracting talents for its research, sales and marketing teams, which it says are now in place. XGI plans to maintain Trident’s product lines and customer base but will release a series of low-end, medium-range and high-end graphics chips by year-end, including a new generation of chips in September, according to Chris Lin.
