NVIDIA Corporation today unveiled its new professional graphics cards for enterprise and multi-display applications – the Quadro NVS 280. The products bring some advantages over previous generation offerings for professional 2D and are immediately available.

The NVIDIA Quadro NVS 280 is a low-profile, dual-head graphics card with 64MB of onboard memory and AGP 8x or PCI interface. NVIDIA’s nView software allows using a number of PCI graphics cards per one computer providing support for up to 16 displays per one PC.

NVIDIA commanded more than 73% of professional graphics market in the Q2 2003, according to Mercury Research. The Santa Clara, California-based graphics firm owns 53% share in professional 2D market; the No.2 spot belongs to Matrox Graphics with only 19%, other companies, primarily ATI Technologies and Appian, occupy 28%.

NVIDIA Quadro add-in card partners such as PNY (US and Europe), LeadTek (Asia/Pacific), and ELSA (Japan), as well as value-added resellers and system builders worldwide, are also now selling the NVIDIA Quadro NVS 280 PCI, NVIDIA said.
